Northumberland OPP – Investigating Incident at Warkworth Institution

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an incident that occurred at the Warkworth Institution which resulted in two individuals being transported to hospital.

On June 10, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at the Warkworth Institution located in Trent Hills involving a number of individuals.

As a result of the incident, ORNGE Air transported one person to a local hospital and another individual to a Toronto Hospital. Injuries to both persons are described as serious.

OPP Forensic Identification Services (IDENT) attended to assist and the Northumberland Crime Unit are continuing with the investigation.
