Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Police Respond to Melee and Suspended Driver (Name Released)

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 80 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on June 13, 2024 to 5:00 am on June 14, 2024.

Disturbance Leads to Arrest

Three people were arrested by Belleville Police after a 20-person melee was reported on June 13 in the city’s east end. Just before 8:30pm, multiple calls were received about a large fight occurring at a Bleecker Avenue address. The responding officers separated the angry crowd and were able to identity three major contributors to the disturbance. Paramedics attended and treated a female for minor injuries. A 27-year-old Bayside woman and a 48-year-old Belleville man were arrested for being intoxicated in a public place contrary to the Liquor License Control Act. They were issued Provincial Offence Notices. Eric Parrinder, 31-years-old of Belleville was arrested and charged with one count of assault. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in July.

Suspended Driver
On the 13th of June at 10:54am, a member of the Belleville Police Traffic Management Unit was monitoring the speed of traffic on Cannifton Rd and as a result, stopped a vehicle for speeding. The officer learned that the driver was suspended from driving. Further, the 28-year-old Belleville man was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant from a nearby policing agency. The driver was charged by the Belleville Police for speeding and driving while suspended. He was issued a summons for traffic court in August. The nearby policing agency attended and returned the male on the strength of their warrant.
