SIU – No Basis to Proceed with Charges Following Police-Involved Shooting in Northumberland County

On February 10, 2024, a 28-year-old man was shot and wounded by an OPP officer in Northumberland County. On his assessment of the evidence, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that an officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the shooting.
