Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Drug Possession (Name Released)

Since May 1, 2024, the 2024 Downtown Action Plan has comprised of a series of proactive crime prevention measures alongside ongoing harm reduction programs. Enforcement of laws and regulations will be a critical focus, particularly in interactions requiring direct intervention due to specific actions or behaviours of individuals.

A 48-year-old Cobourg man has been arrested and charged with drug possession.

On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at approximately 9:00 am, police were conducting patrols of local downtown properties when they engaged with a group of people on private property. During the interaction, it was determined that one of the men was wanted on an outstanding warrant in another jurisdiction. During the arrest, a quantity of fentanyl was located on the male.

As a result, Eric Bremner (48) of Cobourg was arrested for possession of a Schedule I substance.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released with conditions by the Court.
