Officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals as a result of an assault investigation in Campbellford.
On May 22, 2024, at approximately 10:20 a.m., officers responded to an address on Ranney Street in Campbellford for a report of two individuals who engaged in an assault with each other where a weapon was involved. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were also dispatched to the location.
Both persons were transferred to a local hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. An OPP Scenes Of Crime Officer (SOCO) also attended to assist with the investigation.
As a result of the police investigation, two persons were arrested.
Gabriel KENNEDY-CIGAN, 18-years-old, from Campbellford, has been charged with:
– Assault.
Jaden VALM, 18-years-old, from Campbellford, has been charged with;
– Assault with a weapon.
Both the accused are due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
