Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of Fentanyl (Name Released)

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 2:30 pm, police on general patrol in the downtown area observed an individual riding a bicycle pulling a blue shopping cart.

Police arrested Cara BRUINS, a 40-year-old female from Cobourg, for possessing a shopping cart. During a search incident to arrest, the accused was found in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl. As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – fentanyl.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court in June 2024.
