Cobourg Police – Investigation Into Drug Possession and Possession of Stolen Property

Dynamic patrol leads to investigation of Two Adult Males and one Adult Female from Cobourg for drug possession and possession of property obtained by crime.

Since May 1st, 2024, the 2024 Downtown Action Plan comprises a series of proactive crime prevention measures alongside ongoing harm reduction programs. Enforcement of laws and regulations will be a critical focus, particularly in interactions requiring direct intervention due to specific actions or behaviours of individuals.

As part of ongoing engagement and enforcement efforts members of Uniform Patrol and the Criminal Investigations Branch at 7:25 PM on May 16th, 2024, conducted an investigation of two adult males and an adult female in the area of Victoria Park in the Town of Cobourg. Investigation revealed the open consumption of a small quantity of a controlled substance believed to be crack cocaine which was seized. Further items of property were seized pending further investigation.

This incident remains under investigation to determine the rightful owner of the property. Both adult males and the adult female were identified and released pending further police investigation.
