Hopes are High for Youth Wellness Hub

In City Hall

With a location secured in Port Hope, Northumberland County council’s Community Health Committee Chair Olena Hankivsky announced at their April meeting, look out for a May 3 announcement on the Youth Wellness Hub.

This will be both a launch and a fundraiser, Hankivsky said.

“It’s a very important development for the community – there are no Youth Wellness Hubs east of Toronto before Kingston, or north into Peterborough, even though the youth of our community fare worse in health and well-being metrics.”

The lead organization in this initiative is Rebound Child and Youth Services Northumberland.

A robust fundraising committee is in place, she continued, and there is hope for some funding announcements and corporate support.

“It’s another important asset for the community’s youth aged 12 to 25 who live right across Northumberland County.”
