Cobourg Police – Man Held for Bail After Being Charged with Theft, Fail to Comply with Probation (No Name Released)

A 30-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police received a report of thefts from a business in the Town of Cobourg.

On March 17, 2024, police received a report of a theft at a business on Elgin Street West in Cobourg. On two separate days, an individual attended the retail store, selected several items, concealed them, and exited the store without making any payment.

Police initiated an investigation and identified a suspect. As a result of the police investigation, the suspect was located and arrested without incident. The 30-year-old Cobourg man was charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and two counts of fail to comply with probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
