Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Argument in the Nude, Domestic Assault Charges, Unresponsive Male in Driver’s Seat

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 215 calls for service over a period beginning at 5:00 am on March 1, 2024 to 5:00 am on March 4, 2024.

An argument in the nude
Officers arrested an unclothed man after being called to a melee in the hallways of a west end apartment building, Sunday.

Officers were called shortly before 10 p.m. to the Bridge Street West location for a report of a naked man arguing and causing a disturbance in the hallways.

Police arrived and located the 37-year-old Belleville man, who was intoxicated, and in a heated argument with a family member.

The man was arrested for public intoxicated and held until sober.

Community Safety Zone speeder
A 19-year-old Centre Hastings man walked away from a traffic stop in the city’s west end without a vehicle and licence, Sunday.

Around 1:30 p.m. an officer was conducting radar in a Community Safety Zone and clocked a motorist operating a vehicle 82 km/h in a posted 40 km/h zone.

The motorist, a 19-year-old man, was charged with Stunt Driving. As a result, his vehicle was impounded for 14 days and his licence was suspended for 30 days. He was issued an April 8, 2034 court date.

Domestic assault charges
Police and paramedics were dispatched to the area of Front Street early Sunday morning for a report of a female beating a male.

A security guard working in the area observed the female strike the male several times and called police.

Officers arrived and found both people involved bleeding and with injuries.

Following an investigation, the 39-year-old Belleville woman involved was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was released with an April 8 court date.

Her name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim involved.

Unresponsive male in driver’s seat
Belleville police were called shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday to assist emergency services on Highway 401 near Shannonville Road after a driver and passenger of a minivan was found to be unconscious.

At the time of their arrival, emergency services located both a driver and passenger inside the vehicle, both unconscious in their seats.

The pair were both found to be highly intoxicated.

The driver, 23-year-old Shivanish Khare of Brampton, was charged with impaired driving and having more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. He was released with an April 4, 2024 court date.

Driver passed out, drugs found
Officers were called around 8 a.m. Friday to an are near Highway 37 and Ritz Road after a male was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a truck.

After waking the driver, he was arrested for having more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

The 43-year-old Trenton resident was also found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine and under conditions including house arrest.

He was charged with having more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood, possession of a controlled substance and breaching his release order. The man was held for a bail hearing.
