One individual is facing charges as result of an impaired driving occurrence.
On February 17, 2024 at approximately 11:45 p.m., an officer from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on County Road 30 in the Municipality of Brighton, when a vehicle was observed unable to maintain its lane. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer was led into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was arrested and transported to a detachment for further testing.
Jacob TROTTMAN, 19-years-old, from Warkworth, has been charged with the following:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
The tractor was returned to the owner, the parent of the accused.
