Cobourg Police – Colborne Man Charged with Two Counts of Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Four Fail to Comply (No Name Released)

Two Colborne residents are facing charges after police investigate thefts from a local business.

Police opened a theft investigation after receiving a report of two incidents of theft from a business in the area of Strathy Road and DePalma Drive. On December 4, 2023, and January 21, 2024, a man entered the business, removing items from the store without paying.

On February 1, 2024, police received a report from staff that the man returned to the business, again taking merchandise from the store without paying.

The man was located a short distance away, in the company of an adult female with the stolen merchandise.

As a result of the police investigation, a 40-year-old woman from Colborne was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime. She was released on an Undertaking with a future court date.

The 41-year-old man from Colborne was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, and four failure to comply with probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
