Northumberland OPP – Vehicle In Ditch Leads to Impaired Charge (Name Released)

On January 23, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Lovshin Road in Hamilton Township.

An officer attended the scene and there were no injuries reported. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilised by police and as a result, the driver was arrested and transported to a detachment for further testing.

Jeffrey BURKE, 45-years-old from Reaboro has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
