Head-On Collision Closes County Road 28 at Bewdley

One person was airlifted from the scene after a head-on collision in Hamilton Township.

At approximately 9 a.m. emergency services including, Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services, Hamilton Township Fire Department, Northumberland County EMS and Northumberland OPP responded to County Road 28 between Boundary Road and Dieppe Road at Bewdley.

A SUV was travelling northbound and a transport truck travelling southbound collided head-on near the crest of the hill.

The transport blocked both lanes of the roadway.

The driver of the SUV was trapped and had to be extricated.

A Ornge air ambulance landed at the scene and took the driver of the SUV to a Toronto area hospital.

County Road 28 was closed while members of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators examined the scene.

The driver of the transport was taken to Northumberland Hills Hospital with minor injuries.
