Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Charged for the Second Time Pulling Fire Alarm (No Name Released)

A 55-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man are facing charges after emergency services responded to a fire alarm Monday morning.

On Monday, January 1st, 2024 at approximately 12:45am, Cobourg Police and Cobourg Fire responded to a fire alarm at a residential apartment building on King Street East.

It was determined that no fire had occurred, and the alarm had been pulled without reason.

As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with False Fire Alarm, Assault Peace Officer and Obstruct Peace Officer.

A 53-year-old male attempted to prevent the arrest and was, himself, arrested and charged with Cause Disturbance, Obstruct Peace Officer and Being Intoxicated in Common Area of Residence.
Both persons were released on Undertakings with a court date of February 14th, 2024.

Although police didn’t state it in the release, this is the second time  the woman has been charged with  the offence.
