Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Impaired, Two Counts of Fail to Comply and Failure to Attend Court (No Name Released)

A 40-year-old Cobourg man was charged with driving impaired after police conducted a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

On Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2:20 a.m., police on general patrol in the area of King Street West and William Street initiated a traffic stop after observing a wanted male operating the motor vehicle.

Police spoke to the driver, who was exhibiting signs of impairment by alcohol. Further investigation revealed the man was breaching release order conditions.

As a result of the police investigation, a 40-year-old Cobourg man was arrested for operation while impaired (alcohol), impaired operation – over 80, two counts of failure to comply with release order, and failure to attend court.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
