Quinte West OPP – Firearms Investigation Leads to Charges in Quinte West (Names Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested two individuals in connection to a firearm investigation.

On December 8, 2023, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to an after the fact complaint of an armed person on Annwood Court, Trenton. The OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit as well as Quinte West Crime Unit were dispatched to assist. A search warrant was executed at a near by address. Two people have bee n taken into custody.

Virginia MACDONALD, 40 years old from Trenton, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats
  • Pointing a firearm

Lindsey CRANE-NIELSON, 35 years old from Centre Hastings, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 28, 2023.
