Three individuals are facing charges or provincial offences following separate incidents involving suspected drug use and possession.
On September 11, 2026, at approximately 6:40 a.m., officers on general patrol observed an individual suspected of a controlled substance on business property in the area of King Street and 2nd Street. As a result of the investigation, no drugs were located. The 48-year-old Cobourg man was issued a Provincial Offence Notice under the Trespass to Property Act and released.
Later that day, at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers on patrol observed an individual suspected of using a controlled substance on a property near Division Street and Chapel Street. Trace amounts of a controlled substance were seized for destruction. Officers issued a Provincial Offence Notice under the Trespass to Property Act, and the individual was released.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious person behind a business in the area of Strathy Road and DePalma Drive. Officers located a 33-year-old Cobourg resident and observed a controlled substance in plain view. The individual was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

At approximately 11:00 a.m., officers on general patrol located and arrested a 37-year-old Cobourg woman who was wanted in connection with a shoplifting investigation. The individual was arrested and later released on an Undertaking with charges including Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Failure to Comply with Probation.
Later that afternoon, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers observed a 36-year-old Cobourg man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant in the area of King Street and Church Street. The man was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., a neighbouring police service contacted the Cobourg Police Service to advise that they had arrested a 48-year-old Cobourg woman wanted on two outstanding warrants held by the Cobourg Police Service. The individual was transported to Cobourg and held for a bail hearing.

On September 11, 2026, a 58-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with three counts of theft under $5,000. The accused was released on an undertaking and a future court date.

On September 13, 2026, at approximately 7:15 p.m., police responded to the area of Chapel Street and John Street in Cobourg after a resident reported witnessing a man take a spool of wire from a utility building.
Investigators reviewed CCTV footage from the area. As a result of the police investigation, Erich Braun (30) of Cobourg was arrested and charged with Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
