Peterborough County OPP – Investigating Threat at Norwood High School

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a reported bomb threat involving a school located in Norwood.

On Wednesday September 9, 2026, at approximately 6:45am, the Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding a potential bomb threat that had been received by the school. The staff at the school immediately initiated their safety protocols which included contacting police.

Officers arrived on scene minutes later and after a sweep of the school was conducted, it was confirmed that there was no immediate risk to the safety of the students or staff.

The OPP Major Crime Unit has been engaged to assist with the ongoing investigation into the source of the threat. Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have information regarding the investigation and ask that you contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
