Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision involving a golf cart in Laxton Digby Longford Township.
On July 26, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a trailer park on Victoria Road in Laxton Digby Longford Township for reports of a single motor vehicle collision involving a golf cart. Officers attended the scene and confirmed there were no serious injuries. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving-related offences.
Richard ROGERS, 34-year-old of Clarington, was charged with:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date.
As a result of the charge, the driver received an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
