City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Etobicoke Woman Charged Following Collision (Name Released)

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious collision that took place around 6:58 am on Thursday July 09, 2026.

City of Kawartha Lakes OPP along with fire and EMS were dispatched to a collision on Highway 35 near Bethany Hills Road in Manvers Township. The collision was between two vehicles, a passenger motor vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle. Highway 35 was closed while environmental crew s completed their clean up. One driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Through investigation the driver of the motor vehicle was arrested and charged with offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Highway Traffic Act.

Jada-Lee Riley, 26 year old of Etobicoke, was charged with:

Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm

Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm

Attempt to Pass Roadway Not Clear Approaching Traffic

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
