Peterborough Police – Incidents Include Assault Arrest, Warrant Arrest (No Names Released)

Warrant Arrest

Two people wanted in connection with an incident early Thursday morning were arrested late Thursday night.

At approximately 12:06 am on July 2, 2026, officers were called to a residence in the Harper Road and Rye Street area about an ankle monitor being cut off. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female, on a release order and facing a charge of accessory after the fact of murder, had removed her ankle monitor and left the area. Another woman had attempted to stop the suspect from leaving and was assaulted by a male. Officers searched the area but did not locate either suspect. Warrants were sought and issued for their arrest.

At approximately 10:45pm on July 2, 2026, officers were made aware that both suspects had been spotted in the area of Park Street North and Romaine Street. Upon arrival, officers located the male suspect. PSD (Police Service Dog) Gryphon was deployed for a bark and hold, and the man was taken into custody without incident.

Officers then learned the female suspect was nearby and found her behind a building. One officer drew their CEW (conducted energy weapon) after the suspect refused to remove her hands from her pockets. She was taken into custody without incident.

As a result:

A 24-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrant and charged with:

Mischief under $5000
Fail to comply with the release order
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, July 3, 2026.

A 44-year-old Peterborough man who was also wanted on a warrant for theft under $5000 and fail to comply with probation X3 was arrested on the strength of both warrants and further charged with:

Assault
Fail to comply with probation X3
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, July 3, 2026.

 

Assault Arrest

A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident Thursday.

At approximately 10:55pm on July 2, 2026, officers responded to a call for service about an altercation between former partners in which the female was punched, choked, had items thrown at her and was spat on. Upon arrival, officers met the victim and learned that the suspect had left the residence. Officers discovered a considerable amount of damage inside the home. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. Officers returned to the residence to search for the suspect and located him hiding in a vehicle in the backyard. The suspect refused to come out and punched the officers, before being taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation,

A 29-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Assault – Spousal x2
Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle
Mischief Under $ 5,000
Assault with a Weapon – Spousal x2
Assault a Peace Officer x2
Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and a release order to not communicate with the victim.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, July 3, 2026.

 

Assault Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 6:30pm on July 2, 2026, officers were called to a residence in connection with a call for Intimate Partner Violence. Upon arrival, officers learned that the female had been grabbed and verbally threatened by her partner.

As a result, a 37-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Assault – Spousal
Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court July 3, 2026.
