Cobourg Woman Facing Numerous Charges

A 27-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after a shoplifting investigation.

On June 26, 2026, police responded to a business on Elgin Street West in Cobourg for a report of a shoplifting incident that occurred on June 24, 2026. Officers reviewed security footage and identified an individual who left the store with unpaid merchandise.

Police later located the suspect while on foot patrol. The 27-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and three counts of Breach of Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

 

Bowmanville Woman Charged with Mischief

A 36-year-old Bowmanville woman is facing charges following a disturbance at a Cobourg business.

On June 26, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the area of Division Street and University Avenue in Cobourg for a disturbance. Staff reported that an individual became disruptive, damaged property, and was no longer welcome at the location.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Bowmanville woman was arrested and charged with Mischief Under $5,000. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Mischief Investigation

The Cobourg Police Service is investigating a mischief incident at the Ecology Garden in Cobourg. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

On June 26, 2026, police received a report of damage believed to have occurred sometime between June 25 and the morning of June 26, 2026, at the Ecology Garden on Hibernia Street.

Police have increased patrols and visibility in the area. The Cobourg Police Service encourages the public to report any suspicious activity.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information, or who may have dashcam or security footage, is asked to contact the Cobourg Police Service at 905-372-6821. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers.
