Video – Beer Bandit Strikes Again, and Again, and Again in Cobourg

In Police Blotter

A beer bandit has been helping himself at a local gas station in Cobourg.

The individual doesn’t have a specific taste for any particular type of beer, but in the last three days has helped himself four times at a gas station on Division Street in Cobourg.

The first time was on Monday, June 8 when the suspect casually walked in and helped himself at 4:07 a.m.

A day later on Tuesday, the thirst for a nice beverage at the end of a hard day’s work seemed to hit the individual as he walked in again at 4:50 p.m. and helped himself.

One Wednesday, June 10, he walked in at 10:20 p.m. for another case.

Management of the store reached out to Today’s Northumberland for a story on the beer bandit, but before we could get there, the thirsty bandit struck again for a forth time at 1:09 p.m.

Cobourg Police has been advised of all the thefts which include two cases of 30 pack of beer, two cases of 12-packs and a two litre bottle of pop totaling just over $200.00.

The thief didn’t seem to mind a photo of himself on the front door of the business as he entered the store for the last two thefts.

The owners are hoping the attention from the public will help nab the beer bandit.

If you have any information on the suspect please call Cobourg Police at 905-372-6821 during normal business hours or Peterborough and Northumberland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
