Peterborough Police – Incidents Include Pedestrian Collision, Break and Enter, Impaired Arrest (No Names Released)

Collision – Charlotte Street/Reid Street

The Peterborough Police Service Traffic Unit is investigating after a vehicle left the road and struck a pedestrian in the area of Charlotte Street and Reid Street.

It happened at approximately 3:45pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

The 43-year-old pedestrian was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of several injuries. The 78-year-old driver was not injured.

The road was closed for several hours while the Traffic Unit conducted a reconstruction of the collision.  The investigation is continuing.

Collision – Lansdowne Street and Dobbin Road

An 88-year-old Peterborough man was flown to a Toronto hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in a store parking lot.

It happened about 5:50pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.  There was police presence in the area while the Traffic Unit conduction a collision reconstruction.

The investigation is ongoing.

Break and Enter Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Wednesday morning.

At approximately 6:45am on May 27, 2026, officers were called to a break and enter in progress at a residence in the Perry Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers located a woman matching the description given to police inside the residence.  The woman attempted to run from police before being taken into custody.  Through investigation it was learned that the woman was wanted on a warrant for impaired operation, resist peace officer, and take motor vehicle without consent. It was further determined that the same woman was connected to three other incidents reported to police Wednesday morning.

As a result, a 37-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence X2
  • Assault
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Mischief Under $5000 X3
  • Theft Under $5000 X2

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court, May 27, 2026.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 56-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident Wednesday.

At approximately 9:00am on May 27, 2026, officers were called about an erratic driver in the Clonsilla Avenue and Sherbrooke Street area.  Officer located a woman matching the description given to police in a parking lot on Lansdowne Street West. Upon speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 56-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 7, 2026.
