Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Assault Peace Officer, Two Drivers Charged with Impaired (No Names Released)

A 19-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges following a disturbance reported Monday night in the Town of Cobourg.

On March 23, 2026, officers with the Cobourg Police Service were dispatched to a residence after receiving a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police learned that a verbal and physical dispute had occurred. Officers took one individual into custody. While being arrested, one officer was kicked.

As a result, a 19-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with Assault – Spousal and Assaulting a Peace Officer. The accused was held for a bail hearing.


A 48-year-old Pickering man is facing impaired charges after police received a report on Wednesday.

On March 25, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., police received a report of possible impaired driving in the area of Division Street and King Street in Cobourg. A vehicle matching the description was located, and a traffic stop was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old Pickering man was arrested and charged with operation while impaired-blood concentration over 80mg. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

The Cobourg Police Service encourages the public to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911. On March 26, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., police received a report of possible impaired driving in the area of Elgin Street West near Ontario Street in Cobourg. A vehicle matching the description was located, and a traffic stop was conducted.

As a result of the police investigation, the 29-year-old driver was arrested and charged with operation while impaired-blood concentration over 80mg. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
