Breaking News – Northumberland OPP – Investigating Suspicious Death in Municipality of Port Hope

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a death in the Municipality of Port Hope.

On February 19, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m., officers were called to a residence in the area of County Road 65 and 7th Line where one person was located deceased.

Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident, with no signs of a broader threat. Police continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation.

Residents in the area can expect to see an increased police presence as officers continue the investigation.
