Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Impaired (No Name Released)

An impaired driving arrest was made following a report from a concerned resident.

On January 19, 2026, at approximately 4:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a man slouched over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the area of Ravensdale Road and Glen Watford Road in Cobourg. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle and driver matching the description provided.

Police learned the driver was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle and observed signs of impairment by drugs. A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) examination was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Operation While Impaired – Drug, Operation While Prohibited, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, and Driving While Under Suspension. The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequentlyremanded into custody.

The Cobourg Police Service notes that since January 2025, the accused has been arrested four times with 21 criminal charges. In total, police have had 82 interactions with the accused in the past year.
