Video – Cobourg Man Charged with Uttering Threats and Fail to Comply x3 (No Name Released)

A 37-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a report of threats on Tuesday afternoon.

On January 13, 2026, at approximately 3:10 p.m., police were dispatched to a downtown business regarding an unwanted person. Staff contacted police after a male had been asked to leave the property, refused, and threatened to assault a staff member with a baseball bat.

As a result of the police investigation, a 37-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with uttering threats and three counts of fail to comply with a probation order. The accused was held for a show cause hearing and subsequently released.

The Cobourg Police Service notes that since January 2025, the accused has been arrested five times with 12 criminal charges. In total, police have had 39 interactions with the accused in the past year.
