Peterborough Police – Incidents Include Theft Arrest, Stunt Driving (No Names Released)

Theft Arrest

A 75 year-old Bridgenorth man is facing multiple theft charges after a 2-week investigation.

Officers from the Community F.I.R.S.T Unit received information from a local business regarding thefts from the business occurring between June 2025 and August 2025.

On December 2, 2025, officers began an investigation into the thefts, and through the investigation identified the 75-year-old Bridgenorth man. On December 16, 2025, officers made contact with the man, and he agreed to attend the Peterborough Police Station to meet with officers.

As a result of the investigation, a 75-year-old Bridgenorth man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000 x44

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on December 17, 2025.

 

Stunt Driving

A 61-year-old Mississauga man is facing stunt driving charges after an incident Wednesday morning.

At approximately 11:30am, an officer from the Traffic Unit was in the area of Lily Lake Road and clocked a vehicle going 96km/hr in a posted 50km/hr zone.

The officer conducted a traffic stop, and the 61 year-old driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with:

  • Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Speeding (Highway Traffic Act)

The driver was issued a 30-day licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.

The driver is scheduled to attend court in February 2026.
