Peterborough Police – Incidents Include Theft and Impaired (No Names Released)

Theft Arrest

A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with two incidents at local businesses over the past two days.

At approximately 3:30pm on December 10, 2025, officers with the Community F.I.R.S.T Unit were on general patrol in the area of Lansdowne Street and The Parkway when they observed a male walking in the parking lot and that all of the clothes had tags and security tags on them.

Through investigation they learned that the same person was wanted in connection with a theft on December 9, 2025, at a different store.

In total, just over $500 in product was recovered from the two businesses.

As a result of the investigation into the two incidents, a 30-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 X2
  • Failure to comply with a probation Order x4
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2

The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and remain off the property of one of the businesses.

The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, December 11, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 38-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after a theft incident at a local business Wednesday.

At approximately 5:30pm on December 10, 2025, officers with Community F.I.R.S.T were called to the store about a theft in progress. Upon arrival, they learned store security had taken a woman into custody.  Just over $360 was returned to the store.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X4

The accused is currently bound by four probation orders with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend that particular business.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court December 11, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 42-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Wednesday evening.

At approximately 6:00pm on December 10, 2025, several calls were received about a vehicle in a snowbank and that the driver could be impaired.  There was also a small child in the vehicle. Upon arrival, officers learned that the driver and passenger had left the vehicle and returned to their residence. Officers connected with the driver and noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device (Highway Traffic Unit)

The accused is currently bound by a conditional sentence order to not consume alcohol.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, December 11, 2025
