Port Hope Police – Arrest Made in Poppy Donation Box Theft (No Name Released)

On November 6, 2025, officers from the Port Hope Police Service arrested a female suspect in connection with the theft of a poppy donation box from a local business.

The incident occurred on the evening of November 5, 2025, at a restaurant located on Peter Street. Staff reported that a woman entered the establishment, approached the front counter, and concealed the poppy donation box in her jacket before leaving.

Security footage confirmed the theft, and the suspect was identified by staff and police based on prior interactions. On the morning of November 6, officers located the individual in the area of Peter Street and Neilson Drive and placed her under arrest without incident.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including:

Theft Under $5,000 (×2)

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (×2)

The Suspect was transported to the Port Hope Police Service and held for a bail hearing.
