Peterborough Police – Report of Child in the Water Near Ashburnham Drive

At approximately 12:30pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, police officers along with members of Peterborough Fire and Peterborough Paramedics responded to a call about a child in the water at the canal near Maria Street and Ashburnham Drive.

Two officers jumped in, located the child, and got them out of the water.

Life-saving measures were attempted by officers and paramedics before the child was taken to hospital.

There’s no indication of criminality.

Compassion and respect for privacy of all involved is requested.

No further details at this time.
