City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Driver Charged with Impaired Following Collision (Name Released)

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving a call for service for a collision.

On Wednesday October 22, 2025 at approximately 7:57 pm, officers were notified of a single vehicle collision where the vehicle was on its roof with significant damage. Officers were dispatched to Monck Road in Somerville Township. The driver was arrested and charged with impaired d riving related offences.

Nicholas Dean, 27-year-old of Prince Edward County was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
