Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Facing Drug Related Charges (No Name Released)

A Cobourg man is facing drug-related charges following an arrest made by police during a foot patrol in the downtown area.

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., an officer on foot patrol in the area of McGill Street and King Street East observed a man smoking what was believed to be drugs. The man was arrested. During the arrest, a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine was located on him.

As a result of the police investigation, a 63-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date of November 19, 2025.

The Cobourg Police Service notes that since October 2024, the accused has been arrested four times with eight criminal charges. In total, police have had 28 interactions with the accused in the past year.
