Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Breach, Fail to Comply, Trespassing, Driving Under Suspension (No Names Released)

A 34-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested for breaching her Conditional Sentence Order.

On Friday, October 3, 2025, at approximately 11:20 a.m., police on general patrol observed an individual breaching a Conditional Sentence Order.

As a result, a 34-year-old woman from Cobourg was arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order. She was held in custody pending a Show-Cause Hearing and was subsequently remanded into custody.


A 32-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police were called to a disturbance.

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 10:50 a.m., police were called to a business on Spring Street and King Street for a report of a man using drugs behind the building. An officer attended and observed the male actively smoking what was believed to be fentanyl from a pipe.

As a result of the police investigation, a 32-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and during a search incident to arrest police located a quantity of suspected cocaine. The accused was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance and two counts of failure to comply with Probation.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date of November 19, 2025.


A 47-year-old Cobourg man is facing possession charges after being arrested for trespassing.

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 10:10 a.m., police were called to the area of College Street and King Street for a report of several people using drugs on private property. Police attended and located four individuals in violation of the Trespass to Property Act.

All four were arrested under the Trespass to Property Act. During a search incident to arrest, one individual was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl.

As a result, a 47-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance and failure to comply with probation.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date of November 19, 2025. The remaining three were issued Provincial Offence Notices for engaging in a prohibited activity.


Traffic stop leads to Criminal and Highway Traffic Act charges

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at approximately 10:25 a.m., police on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Cottesmore Avenue and King Street East in Cobourg.

During the investigation, police learned that the driver was prohibited from driving. As a result, a 44-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Operation while prohibited contrary to the Criminal Code, Driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and Fail to surrender insurance card both under the Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days. The accused was released on an undertaking and Part III Summons with a future court date.
