Cobourg Cougars Set to Begin OJHL Regular Season

The Cobourg Cougars split a pair of exhibition games and will open the Ontario Junior Hockey League regular season on the road later this week.

Following a 6-4 pre-season win Aug. 21 in Trenton, the Cougars dropped a 5-3 decision on Saturday in Lindsay against the Muskies.

Carson Durnin, Jack Foley and Lincoln Edwards tallied the Cobourg goals in the defeat while Vincent Gazquez scored four of the five Lindsay goals.

Cobourg heads to Minden this Saturday for their regular season opener against the Haliburton County Huskies.

The Cougars home opener is set for next Monday night (September 8) against the Newmarket Hurricanes. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre.
