Cobourg Police – Release Images of Suspects Involved in Distraction Theft

In Police Blotter

The Cobourg Police Service (CPS) is looking to identify three individuals involved in a shoplifting/distraction theft in the Town of Cobourg.

On July 29, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., three males attended a business in the area of Spring Street and King Street in Cobourg. One male distracted a staff member while the other two men took and concealed merchandise in their sweaters. They departed the store and left the area in a dark coloured sedan.

Police have obtained CCTV footage from the business and are looking to identify the individuals in the photos. It is believed that the suspects may be involved in distraction thefts in other communities.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
