Northumberland OPP – Serious Collision North of Port Hope

On Monday July 7, 2025, at approximately 5:30 am, officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Northumberland EMS and the Port Hope Fire and Emergency services responded to a serious head-on collision involving two passenger sedans on County Road 28 near Bewdley.

Both drivers and four passengers that were in one of the vehicles, have received serious to life threatening injuries and have been transported to various trauma centers with the assistance from Ornge air ambulance services.

County Road 28 between Rice Lake Drive and Hannah Road will be cl osed for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
