Belleville Police – Incidents Include Assault with a Weapon, Breach of Probation, Mischief

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 89 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on July 2, 2025 to 5:00 am on July 3, 2025.

Assault with a Weapon
On July 2nd at 8:52pm, Belleville Police responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, officers learned that the female suspect had thrown a bottle of nail polish at a male, striking him in the head. The impact caused a laceration and resulted in visible bleeding.

As a result of the investigation, the female was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Breach of Probation
On July 2nd at approximately 3:40am, Belleville Police responded to a call regarding a disturbance at a business on Sydney Street. Officers attended and learned that a female on the property was under active probation conditions. 38-year-old Jennifer Murphy, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to comply with probation order. She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in July 2025.

Mischief and Break and Enter
On July 2nd at approximately 3:30am, Belleville Police responded to a call regarding a break and enter at a residence in the city’s east end. Police learned that a male suspect had forcibly entered a home by kicking in the front door and had since left the residence.

The suspect was located, arrested and charged with:

· Mischief

· Break and enter with intent

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Stolen Vehicle
The Belleville Police is requesting the public’s assistance with locating a stolen vehicle.

On July 2nd at approximately 12:40 am, a 26-foot U-Haul truck was reported missing from the city’s east end. The vehicle was parked at a residence on Alexander Street and was reportedly filled with furniture at the time of the theft.

The vehicle bears an Arizona license plate with the registration number AJ09066.
