Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Robbery, Resisting, Fail to Comply, Assault (Name Released)

A 27-year-old Cobourg woman has been arrested for robbery at a local business.

On Monday, June 23, 2025, at approximately 3:22 p.m., officers assigned to the Safer Streets Cobourg initiative were in the area of Spring Street and King Street East when they heard a disturbance at the entrance of a nearby business. Through investigation, police determined a female had attempted to steal merchandise. The woman bit a staff member when they tried to stop the theft. The staff member was treated by paramedics on scene.

As a result, 27-year-old Autumn Nesbitt was arrested and charged with robbery with violence, resisting a peace officer, and failing to comply with a probation order. The accused was held pending a Show Cause Hearing.

A 38-year-old Cobourg man is facing intimate partner violence charges after police responded to a report of assault on Monday.

On June 23, 2025, police responded to a report of assault at a residence in Cobourg. Police learned that during an altercation, a man pushed the victim to the ground and assaulted her. As a result of the police investigation, a 38-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault and held in custody pending a show cause hearing.


Editors Note: No mention of the fourth suspicious fire in downtown Cobourg in approximately one month.
