Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Numerous Drug Trafficking Offences (Name Released)

A 41-year-old Cobourg man is facing drug trafficking charges after police observed him with drugs and paraphernalia on Saturday morning.

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., an officer on a foot patrol in the area of King Street East and McGill Street observed a man sitting on a curb with controlled substances and drug paraphernalia on the ground in front of him in plain view. As a result, the man was arrested. During the arrest, the officer located a quantity of cash, a weigh scale, several knives, contraband unmarked cigarettes, and other controlled substances.

Police seized approximately 10.26 grams of fentanyl, 15.84 grams of cocaine and 22.89 grams of crack cocaine, with a total estimated street value of $12,000.

As a result, 41-year-old Wayne LANGLEY of Cobourg was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – crack cocaine
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000
  • Possess fine cut unmarked tobacco (sec.29(2) of the Tobacco Tax Act)

The accused was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing and was later remanded into custody.
