Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Theft, Break and Enter, Uttering Threats and Fail to Comply (No Names Released)

On June 12, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Henry Street and University Avenue. The caller reported that a female had entered his vehicle and that money and property was stolen. Police reviewed the vehicle’s dash mounted camera video and identified the suspect involved.
While patrolling the area for the suspect, Police located her in the downtown area. The 36-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with the offence of Theft Under $5000 and was later released by way of an Undertaking. The female will attend the Cobourg, Ontario Court of Justice in July 2025 for a first appearance hearing.


On May 25, 2025, Cobourg Police Service investigated a reported Break and Enter on Third Street and Albert Street, Cobourg. Police reviewed video surveillance of two suspects breaking into a secure building and then into storage units within the building. Police were able to identify the two males and in the early morning of June 13, 2025, Police located and arrested a 27-year-old Cobourg resident while patrolling in the downtown core.
The accused was charged with Break and enter, possession of break and enter tools and failing to comply with probation x 2. The accused was held for a Bail hearing later today. The second suspect is still outstanding, and a warrant is being sought for his arrest.


On Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, at approximately 1:35 pm, a male attended a business in the area of Division Street and Munroe Street. While paying for his drink, the male became aggressive with the cashier, threatening to kill him. Before exiting the store, the male poured the drink on the floor and left. Police reviewed video surveillance and were able to identify the male.
A 44-year-old Port Hope resident was charged with uttering threats to cause death, mischief under $5,000, breach of recognizance and fail to comply with probation x 2. The accused was held for bail hearing later today.
