City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle Closes Highway 7

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision that took place around 10:28am on May 10, 2025.

City of Kawartha Lakes OPP, Kawartha Lakes Police Service along with fire and EMS were dispatched to a collision on Highway 7 near Double Tree Road. The driver of a motorcycle from Lindsay, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to local hospital.

Highway 7 remai ns closed between Highway 35 and County Road 36 while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
