Warkworth Man Charged with Impaired
On May 3, 2025, at around 5:15 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint regarding a pick-up truck on Saskatoon Avenue in the Municipality of Trent Hills. The caller advised the vehicle was unable to maintain it’s lane and hit the curb.
Police located the vehicle and following speaking to the driver, entered into an impaired operation investigation. The accused was taken into custody and transported to a local detachment for further tests.
Peter Brown, 61-years-old, from Warkworth, has been charged with:
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
In addition to a future court date, a further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.
Cobourg Man Charged with Impaired
On May 4, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., OPP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision where a passenger vehicle was on it’s roof in the ditch on Durham Street North in the Township of Cramahe.
A small child was also advised to be a passenger in the vehicle. The Township of Cramahe Fire Department and EMS were also dispatched to the location.
Officers arrived on the scene where both occupants were being treated by EMS as a precaution. Police then entered an impaired operation investigation and made a demand for the Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver complied with the demand resulting in a reading of ‘FAIL’ at which point they were arrested.
The individual was transported to a local detachment for further tests. Another family member was able to come to the location for the child.
A 31-year-old male, from Cobourg, has been charged with:
– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Careless driving
– Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
– Fail to ensure child properly secured.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a fu ture date. A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.
Cobourg Man Charged with Impaired
On May 4, 2025, at around 7:45 p.m., an officer was on patrol on Burnham Street in Cobourg when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in a 40 Km/hr zone.
The vehicle was stopped, and the driver exited the vehicle in an effort to walk to a nearby residence.
Police spoke to the individual and upon doing so, detected an odour of alcohol. OPP then made a demand for the Approved Screening Device (ASD).
The driver complied with the demand resulting in a reading of ‘FAIL’ at which point they were arrested and transported to a local detachment for further tests.
Xavieur STATA, 18-years-old, from Cobourg, has been charged with:
– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
– Drive motor vehicle or boat wi th cannabis readily available
– Novice driver – Blood alcohol concentration above zero.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date. A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.
