Peterborough County OPP – Suspect Charged While Released on Conditions (Name Released)

Officers from the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual after receiving information they were breaching their release conditions.

On April 19, 2025, just prior to 6:30am, officers from the Peterborough County OPP received information that an individual currently on release conditions, was out when they shouldn’t be. Officers located the individual on Division Road, riding a motorcycle and attempted to stop vehicle which fled from them. A short while later, the vehicle was located at the side of the road but the driver was not with it.

Officers requested a K-9 unit to be dispatched to assist with locating the individual. Shortly after the search began, the individual in question was located hiding among the trees and officers arrested them.

Branden LANE (age 35) from Havelock, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Dangerous Operation

·      Flight from Peace Officer

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order

·      Operation while Prohibited

·      Failure to comply with Release Order

·      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

·      Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Drive motor vehicle, no plates

·      Drive without proper headlights

·      Drive motor vehicle – improper licence

·      Drive motor vehicle – no permit

·      Operate unsafe vehicle

The accused was held for Bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.
