Peterborough County OPP – Colborne Driver Charged with Impaired After Collision (Name Released)

Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with impaired driving after being dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch call.

On April 13, 2025, at approximately 4:30am, Peterborough County OPP Officers were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle collision that took place on Highway 7 in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan. The caller advised that they had arrived on scene after the vehicle had already gone off the road. They advised police that they believed the driver to be impaired. The caller remained on scene until police arrived.

Police arrived on scene and after a brief conversation with the driver, the officer determined the driver to be impaired and arrested them.

Cameron BURT (age 21) of Colborne, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Novice Driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on May 13, 2025
