Northumberland OPP – Person Charged with Assault

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a family dispute.

On April 8, 2025, at approximately 2:25 p.m., police responded to an assault which had taken place at an address on Daniels Drive in Brighton. Officers arrived and began an investigation which resulted in one person being taken into custody.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also attended the location for one involved party who sustained non-serious injuries.

A 25-year-old male, from the Township of Cramahe, has been charged with:

– Assault with a weapon

– Assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date. They shall not be named to protect the identity of the victim.
