Belleville Police – Incidents Include Bail Violation, Impaired Driving

Bail Violation
On April 10, 2025, at 4:00pm, the Belleville Police responded to a call for service in the west-end regarding a bail violation.

Upon arrival, the police spoke with the female complainant who advised that the male attended her residence despite being on court conditions not to be at that address.

The police located the suspect shortly after and took him into custody.

The 43-year-old accused from Belleville was charged for Fail to comply with an Undertaking and was held in custody and will appear in court on April 11, 2025.

Impaired Driving / Motor Vehicle Collision
On April 10, 2025, at 5:30pm, the Bellville Police responded to a two-car motor vehicle collision located in the area of Sidney Street and Bridge Street West.

No injuries were reported.

The at fault driver submitted to a road side breath screening test.

Subsequently, the driver was arrested for Impaired Driving and transported back to the police station for further breath test exams.

As a result of the investigation, the accused, 21-year-old William Meitz of Belleville, was charged with the following:
· Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Blood Alcohol Content Exceeded 80mgs.
· Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

The accused was later released when sober and will appear in court in May 2025.
