In Upcoming Events

The Municipality of Brighton is honoured to recognize the dedicated community volunteers at our annual Brighton Volunteer Recognition Event.

Fellow Volunteers are invited to join elected officials on May 1 at the Owen Gibb Community Hall to celebrate those who selflessly share their time, empathy, and experience to improve the well-being of our community.

“We are fortunate in Brighton to have an army of volunteers! On May 1st we will be celebrating our community volunteers at during our Community Service Excellence Awards.” said Mayor Brian Ostrander. “This event promises to be an exciting occasion that highlights the exceptional contributions of our residents who make Brighton a better place. Join us as we recognize and honour the spirit of service that defines our community!”

The event will include the presentation of the 2025 Brighton Community Service Excellence Award, a prestigious award that honours individuals who have made a significant impact in our municipality and its members. To further acknowledge the diverse range of volunteerism in our community, the “Spirit of Service” awards will also be presented to each nominated volunteer.

Complimentary tickets for community volunteers are now available on a first-come first-served basis. Tickets can be reserved through the Municipal website or by phoning the Municipal Office at 613-475-0670 ext. 218. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the evening will officially begin at 5:30 p.m. with speeches, light refreshments, and awards.

The event is proudly hosted during National Volunteer Week 2025, a week to highlight volunteer contributions and their positive impacts on society.
